Your Money or Your Friends?

Hey Fam! I guess it’s okay to start saying Compliments of the season to each and every one of you, I have missed blogging so much and at some point, I was experiencing some sorta creative block.

I am here now though and I believe that is what matters the most 😊.

Remember when I talk about balancing work and your passion/goals? oh well! another topic has emerged.

Let’s talk about balancing work and relationships, shall we?!

You know how people call you to tell you they are in your city, but deep down in your heart, you know that even your guys in your city do not even get to see you? Lol!

A colleague of mine read out a post she came across online that said “we are young but we are stressing like we are 50”

It is so true! I mean, where is the lie? In a country like this where there is a lack of jobs and the ones, you find to take up all your time and energy with pay that can not even cover your transportation and pay certain bills. Where is the energy to now make time to hang out with friends? How about the thought of spending the small money that you have made? lol.

In between working, trying to catch a break and getting yourself in order; It’s like we literally have guns to our heads, and the person holding the gun is asking “Your Money or Your Friends?”.

This same colleague of mine went on the tell us the story of how she lost some friends because they thought she was too busy and too proud to make out time for them. After all, she has a job…hmmm…okay oh!

Oh! Let me go on to gist you of how a friend of mine called me over the phone to legit para for me and the rest of our friends because apparently, we have been planning a girl’s hang out for about 2-3 months, all to no avail. Some of us work on Saturdays and Sundays are the only days we get to ourselves, do laundry, go to church, rest and get set for Monday. She took her time to plan a hangout and we eventually bailed on it because of work or time to sort out stuff.

On two occasions I have had friends come over to my house for sleepovers and I barely had time to sit down and catch up with them till they left.

How do you balance the stress of work, make time for yourself, as well make time for those people who make life beautiful for you, you know….your homies, your Gs, your paddies?

How do you find a balance? How do you control yourself from being carried away with the idea of making money and working that you lose some friendships and relationships that you need in your life?

I know for a fact that this struggle does not only apply to those who work for others, those who have their own businesses also get stuck in this phase as well.

The question is, how do you balance it all?

  1. Big question cause have lost so many friends too.. Next thing some are acting out Like
.. you the too busy type and boom sorry all you get too it’s we busy and everyone moves… Buh in all friends we gat the ” Real Paddies” these are people who understands what’s up, no matter how life goes. So you keep a strong daily contact with them… Could be chatting them during lunch period, video chat Sundays , try finding time to visit them Wen they are free and you too are free, to ensure proper communication.
The truth is not everyone gets to stay in your life, at some point some leave for various reasons.
N no one gets busy for ever… Xcept you watch the clock😀
So let’s stop the too much excuses and create the perfect time for friends… Last last the money Na friends go follow chop am… So how they won take chop if una no meet. Lol on social media😁
