Hey there! Welcome to a brand new episode of Woman Crush Wednesday with Deespeakable.
One of the reasons why the segment was introduced is to celebrate wins; small or big, to celebrate who dare to do more, achieve more and make an impact.
Today our Woman Crush is a Psychologist who is in the business of Hair Artistry.

Let’s get to know her…

About Lilian……….

My name is Lilian Opara. I’m from Imo state, Nigeria. I studied Psychology at Nasarawa state university, Keffi.

Lily is one of those few people who discovered their passion and got some form of direction during their service year……..

Lily is one of those few people who discovered their passion and got some form of direction during their service year……..

I always had a passion for the Beauty industry especially Hair artistry.
I fell in love with Wig making during my NYSC service year.

She tells us a funny story of how she summoned the courage to start ……

One day I woke up and decided that I wanted to cut my hair but I didn’t want people to know. Very funny! That’s when it clicked that I can actually make my own wig. So I attempted my first wig which was a disaster. I decided to take classes on wig making both online and practically. I did and still do a lot of research on wigs and other hair services.

After official entering the wig-making business for about a year and some months, Lilian shares a little bit of her journey so far……

I started my wig making business in March 2018.

So far, the journey has been an amazing ride with lows and highs. Starting my business with little capital made it very difficult in the beginning but I made it work by paying attention to customer service and customer experience. I pay attention to every client’s order specification. This strategy has helped me gain a client base that I can be proud of.

Looking back from March 2018 to date, she has one word to describe it “Thankful”…….

Although I am not where I want to be yet I’m enjoying every phase of my journey and I am truly thankful.

On future plans…….

I’m currently working on projects that would materialize next year.

One of them is my hair Academy which is already up and running successfully.

She also took out time to encourage someone out there who is too scared to up a business or pursue their passion……..

My advice to anyone who is scared of starting up something is this; never allow fear to consume you. Be courageous, plan effectively and START.

Pay no attention to those who tell you it is impossible and surround yourself with positive minds. Take classes on that skill, seek mentorship and last but not the least, seek God’s approval.
I wish you victory only. Thank you!

You can keep up with Lilian on Instagram @liyliiyhairclinic to order or revamp your wigs.

Thank you for stopping by, have a blessed Wednesday!
