Happy Democracy day Nigeria and welcome to another dose of the Woman Crush Wednesday Cuteness!

The joy of story telling is the uniqueness in every story, the lesson to be learnt and encouragement to be found. Today’s feature is someone whose friendship with me started on Facebook but is set to last a lifetime! Joy and I had been friends for about 3-4 years on Facebook before we officially met during one of her visits to Nigeria, how we have kept this long distance friendship going? I have no idea lol! I am certain of one thing though, Joy is a good person. Let us get to meet her as she talks about combining her love for modelling along side her love for giving back to the community…..

About Joy Kwentoh……

My name is Joy Amaka Kwentoh, i was born in Onitsha, Nigeria. I moved to the United States of America when I was 4 years old. I’ve lived in the United States for 17 years now. I’m currently a full time student and a model.

On her love for nursing, she says……

I go to school at American International College where I study nursing. Ever since I’ve been in high school I’ve always had a passion for helping people out and giving back to the community too, which gave me the passion to go into nursing.

For modelling….

I’ve always had a passion to be a model since I was a little girl, my mother started me off with doing beauty pageants then later on signed me up for modeling school, where I started doing my modeling training at John Casablancas Modeling And Acting Agency.

For Joy, going into modelling took a lot of courage. Especially due to the fact that she was not so confident about her body and did not think she would fit in at first….

I must say I was a little bit intimidated with the other girls there doing the training with me, due to the way their body sizes were, compared to mine. Most of them were way more skinner than me and taller too. Which would always make me want to go on immediate diets to loose weight to be like them, but throughout my 24 weeks of modeling training and meeting all different types of agents and trainers, they made me appreciate my body more and also taught me to love my body the way It looked. My body may not be as perfect as I want it but I still love it.

Once I finished my modeling training about 3 months after I started receiving lots of modeling calls for jobs, which included fashion shows, photoshoots, commercials, fit modeling, hair modeling, etc…

For future plans….

My future goals are to get my Bachelors degree as a nurse, then go back to school to get my Masters degree too, then open up my own hospital in my hometown Nigeria, where It’ll be run by me.

For the younger generation……

My quote for our younger upcoming generation Is to love yourself no matter what, and don’t let anybody or anything change you. You are perfect the way you are!

I pray you achieve everything you want Joy.

Thanks for stopping by fam, God Bless!
